Type of Music Video - video gameplay lyric video



My idea is to use game footage I got permission and edit the gameplay footage together and I want to add maybe some effects using Adobe effects and I would like to add some lyrics. i think i want to do this because i may be worried about running out of time with the deadline of this assignment. With the song i have chosen i think adding some effects for the dance part would be a good idea and maybe some lyrics because it has two verses of the song and i think it would be a good idea to add some lyrics

Verse 1 Analyse:

When I listened to it I had the impression that the first verse is about he tells himself that this girl isn't good enough for him and that she is bad for him. He compares her to Poison and he wants her to let him go and get him move on, and he thinks something good is going to happen in he relationship but he knows that it isn't gonna happen but he doesn't know what to do and he thinks that reality doesn't always seem like reality.

Verse 2 Analyse:

On the second verse I got the impression that he had made up his decision and he decided to give her another chance but she hasn't changed for the better she has stayed the same as before and he has stayed the same. He has decided that enough is enough that he is going to leave her so he can move on without her in his life but he cant seem to break up with her,  he think that she is a really bad person and she gives him reason to hate and to hate being in a relationship with another girl because of what a bad person she was to him.

He cant get enough of her because he is addicted to her and she lies to him and he told her to let him go because it isn't fair on him i would rather be with her because she is a nightmare.

In every Music Videos that are out either a Purpose, a Technique and a they own style. but it depends on the music genre that you are making your music video for and also the Artist that you are working for and to make a Music Video that goes well with the music and to help tell the story with the music itself.. Also way to increase their income is Product Placement which is when a company pays you massive amounts of money to have their product in your Music Video.

Purposes 

They are lots of purposes of Making Music Videos some music videos are made to make money like Voyeurism because sex sells and like Music Videos like Nikki Minaj's Anaconda was only made to sell and to make profit on her song and video.

 Some Music Videos can be  designed to go viral on the  internet like OkGo for example  they make some interesting and  creating videos that are designed  to go viral and then if it goes viral  then it may get their name out t  there on the internet and then  people will start listening to their  music because of the music their produce for the songs that they make. For this particular video they made for the song This Too Shall Pass it took them months to get it right and perfect because they wanted it to be insane and messy an also they wanted it to be cool and entertaining and also in this particular video they used Live sounds which is a one of the styles you can use in your Music. Music Videos can just appeal to an larger audience for example The Korean song "Gang-ham Style" is know for the dance and the music video and it is/was one of the most viewed video on YouTube

Also Synergy is another way to promote the artist and the music video.. Synergy is when two different organisations work together to make a better product for example The singer Adele's song called Sky fall is the theme tune for Movie  Sky fall part of the James bond 007 trilogy 

Technique

They are lots of different techniques you can consider using when you create a music video. Some music video can use Narrative like for example "Eminem's Love they way you lie" has Narrative in and it tells the story with help with the music.

Another Music Video Technique is Cutting to the beat which allows a series of shots edited together to move the music and the pace of the cuts depends on the type of song for example if your making a music video for a dance song then you will most likely cut more and fast because it would be a fast paced song so it needs a fast paced music video otherwise it wouldn't work as good.

When shooting the music video can be filmed in One shot which is another technique that directors use for example one of OKGO music video for a song was in one shot and the music video is good and it looks like it took months of planning and perfecting the video. The music video is very creative and it was designed to go viral on the internet and that helped to promote them because of their Music Videos because they are all interesting and unique from everyone else.. In the Music video they also used real live sounds which they recorded and used it in their music video which i thought was cool and creative and unique.

Conventions 

Some Music Videos can be Lyrics Music Videos like Cash Cash - Take me home have made Lyrics Music Videos for their songs which also used a go pro to film the footage while they had lyrics on the screen aswell which they used the cutting to the beat technique when the footage was edited.

also Cash Cash made a official Music video for their song aswell as the Lyric Video which was shot different because it wasn't in first person like the lyrics video and they used a slightly different technique when they edited video 




In some Music Videos you can find references to another artist or film like in Samantha Janes - Step up there are parts from the dance movie Step up which is referencing that particular movie  -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SegXS-0izn0 

Some songs may have deeper subtle meaning but it can be shown through that Music Video by making the song have more meaning.
